Dean grew up in northern New England and came west to attend Reed College in Portland, OR. He worked at a small local publishing company, New World Library, before painting full time.

Dean worked as a painting contractor for about 10 years and studied faux finishing at the Joanne Day Studio in San Francisco. Dean is experienced at applying lime paint, venetian plaster, american clay plaster and other specialty finishes.   Last year (2007) he worked primarily with zero voc paints (purchased at Green Fusion) and gained a great appreciation for their healthy qualities and excellent performance. "I enjoy helping our customers gain an understanding of environmentally friendly finishes. And I appreciate the role Green Fusion is playing as a resource for the materials we need to make our lives and homes more green."   

When not at work, Dean enjoys spending as much time as possible exploring nature and traveling with his wife and two children.
