About Cambria

Cambria is the only American company producing quartz kitchen countertops. These beautiful natural surfaces, sometimes called “engineered stone”, are one of the strongest and most durable countertops you can install. Cambria countertops boast the style and feel of granite countertops, but they offer superior sanitary properties and are also incredibly easy to clean and care for. They have been proven to be twice as strong as granite, with a super-smooth finish that resists scratching and other damage better than almost any other countertop material.

At Cambria, they're committed to environmental responsibility in both their product offerings and business practices. Managing and minimizing their impact on the environment is an important part of their culture. Cambria was founded in 2001 and produces 225 tons of quartz surfaces each day from its premises in Minneapolis, Chicago, Indianapolis and Atlanta. As the only producer of natural quartz surfaces in the United States, Cambria offers distinct advantages in the areas of environmental health, safety and sustainability.

Cambria is committed to environmental responsibility in its product offerings and business practices. These include:

  • Cambria Natural Quartz Surfaces™ have a lower "carbon footprint" compared with other imported quartz products that are primarily manufactured in the Middle East, Asia and Europe, and thus require greater shipping and transportation resources.
  • 100% of the water in production plants is recycled.
  • The Department of Energy (DOE) works with Cambria to implement energy saving procedures at Cambria facilities.
  • Cambria's fleet vehicles include hybrids (Toyota Prius).
  • A-frame shipping crates that transport slabs and fabricated product are recycled and refurbished.
  • All diamond-metal tooling is retooled and re-used.
  • Cambria recycles water from an on-site storm drainage pond to water the grounds of the manufacturing plant.
  • Scrap material is collected and used as road base material on local construction projects.
  • All computer equipment and batteries are recycled.
  • General office waste is recycled (paper, plastics, ink cartridges, etc.).
  • Collateral & sales materials are printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper.
  • Environmental best practices are promoted through training programs at Cambria University.
