About Pacific Rim Woodworking
What began in 1981 with the simple idea of building furniture
for the emerging futon industry, grew into a new approach to
the futon issue: build heirloom quality bedroom furniture using
traditional construction methods such as mortise and tenon and
dovetail. More than twenty years later, Pacific Rim Woodworking
continues to combine environmental concern with the personal
touch only handcrafting can offer.
Pacific Rim Woodworking is committed to providing a
product that is made with minimal environmental impact yet constructed
to withstand generations of use. With its straightforward design
and sturdy construction a significant contribution is made to
the environment by limiting the use of untapped resources to
create replacement products. The folks at Pacific Rim Woodworking
feel that it is not only important to use our resources wisely,
but to practice conservation whenever possible.
The Western Maple used in their products is actually harvested
as a secondary item during softwood harvests. Pacific Rim Woodworking
strives to use every possible board foot of maple, donating the
smallest off-fall to local schools and community centers for
woodshop projects or low-income families for heat during the
winter months.
Pacific Rim's furniture is built entirely in Eugene, Oregon
and is guaranteed to be free of defects in both materials and
workmanship.
