Thursday, May 18th we met with the author of: Design
for Life: The Architecture of Sim van der Ryn. A
renowned leader in sustainable architecture, Sim has won numerous
awards for his environmental pioneering and excellence in leadership
for sustainable principles. He is the founder of Van
der Ryn Eco-logic Design Collaborative, Co-founder of the Center
for Regenerative Design and author of seven books. Sim
discussed his latest book Design for Life and shared:
- Over 35 years of experience teaching sustainable design practices
- The creation and mission of the Center for Regenerative Design
- Buildings as organisms not objects and cities as complex eco-systems
not machines.
