On  Thursday January 18th Green Fusion celebrated the release of Ted’s latest book and DVD

“Building with Awareness: The Construction of a Hybrid Home.”

 

Ted’s discussed his current DVD and book which featured the design and construction of his own sustainable straw bale home.

Ted Owens is the co-founder of Syncronos Design Inc., a company dedicated to promoting environmental issues and design. Ted is a design generalist who combines his interests in design, appropriate technology, film and video. Ted’s focus is on energy and resource-efficient building design—emphasizing the combination of high technology with low technology to create an aesthetic package. Ted was on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit group “Alliance

for Green Development” in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was Chairman of the

Green Building Standards Committee which developed guidelines for residential green building in Albuquerque. He has been a featured guest speaker at a variety of conventions including the American Institute of Architects and the National Association of Home Builders.

Ted has consulted on the design of sustainable structures ranging in size from small

homes to multi-million dollar government facilities
